Health Equipment Loan Program (HELP)
At the request of the Alberta Ministry of Health, the Canadian Red Cross is supporting individuals who are transitioning home from the hospital in Alberta. The Red Cross Health Equipment Loan Program (HELP) continues to provide health equipment, such as commodes, walkers, IV poles and wheelchairs, and has increased its capacity during the pandemic to assist more Albertans being discharged from the Alberta health care system to continue their safe recovery at home.

Travellers returning to Canada
The Canadian Red Cross is supporting the Public Health Agency of Canada, providing care and comfort services to returning travellers at eight locations: Vancouver, Calgary, Regina, Toronto, Montreal, Fredericton, St. John’s and Halifax. Services include:
- Reception, registration, information and resources for those staying in isolation;
- Meal delivery services, including special meal options for dietary restrictions;
- Safety and wellbeing support, including wellness checks, referrals for mental health needs and feedback mechanisms;
- Family reunification, which includes facilitating family connections and re-establishing contact with family members; and
- Provision of personal items, such as hygiene kits and access to services like mobility aids and prescription medications.
COVID-19 Community Support for Community Organizations
The Canadian Red Cross concluded round 2 of applications on October 30, 2020. Applications were taken for two Red Cross programs supporting organizations that continue delivering vital services to those most vulnerable to the health, social and economic impacts of COVID-19.
